What Happened Last Year?
Last year, one of the focus areas was on reducing waste - a theme that aligned with various facets of environmental consciousness. We encouraged attendees to consume less and creatively reuse their food scraps, old clothes, and household items. This not only benefits our environment but also has positive implications for personal finance.
By throwing less away and opting for reuse, recycling, or upcycling, each of us can decrease our carbon footprint and contribute to global wellness. The less waste we produce, the fewer items end up in landfill or littering the local environment.
It was heartening to see numerous charities and community groups at the festival, all committed to enhancing this cause.

Saving Water
As we navigate the close of the summer, the need to preserve water becomes increasingly obvious. Although UK's rainfall seems abundant, this year's precipitation is significantly below the typical average, resulting in depleted reservoirs. By being thoughtful about our water consumption, we not only contribute to the ecosystem but also potentially save on our bills.
Saving Money and Energy
With energy prices soaring, we all should reflect on ways to reduce energy consumption in our households. The first step towards this is understanding our energy usage patterns. For those equipped with a smart meter, this could be a valuable tool for monitoring energy consumption.
For others, helpful advice can be found from renowned sources such as Which? and The Energy Saving Trust. Even if you aren't a homeowner or currently in a position to replace energy-consuming appliances, there are numerous free and easy-to-implement energy-saving tips available.
